Hi and welcome to my personal blog,

My name is Richard Hill and I live in small village called Saxilby, just outside the City of Lincoln in the UK.  When I started looking in to my own personal blog I found that someone else had already registered RichardHill.com so I had to look at the next best thing; my middle names are Peter Edward.  It’s a family thing……My father was Peter and my grandfather was Edward… So I’m Richard Peter Edward.. all 3 generations, and to keep up tradition my eldest son Oliver is Oliver Richard Peter Edward Hill.. poor boy !!. Anyway, moving on …… I’ve been married for the past 6 years to Rachel and we have 2 young children Oliver (4) and Finley (2).

I’m 37 and I’ve worked for myself since I graduated University back in 1996.   Since that time I have spent the majority of my career in the IT Distribution business working with many manufacturers such as Intel, AMD, Maxtor and Sony.

I previously owned and managed a company called THX Trade which I built up over a period of 10 years to a fairly large concern, employing over 30 staff and with an 8 figure turnover. The business was expanding,  however after some seriously hard trading times and some crazy business decisions the company was placed into administration (March 2006) and I found myself literally back to square one.   Well.. Not quite.

The learning curve that I went through in the last few months of trading (back in 2006) made me realise one main thing… that I’m never going down that route again and I quickly identified that if I could learn new skills to stay on top of the Google rankings I could enter into other markets as I wished that I had identified as having a healthy profit margin.

For the last three years and nearly every single day of that I’ve spent time learning about traffic techniques, seo, sem, adwords techniques and I have applied these skills to my own sites.  I currently have 3 main sites selling physical products like digital frames, TV stands and TV accessories and we also sell the same product portfolio back out to the trade.

So, why this blog and why now?????  During all this time spent learning about driving traffic to websites and setting up ecommerce sites the real fire inside of me and my driving passion was the thought of selling information products, either my own, or as an affiliate for other people.  This to me is a real switch from having a warehouse full of stock, premises, full time staff and regular overheads.

Let’s get one thing straight I’m definitely not technically minded and I outsource just about everything I can. Having identified that I wanted to pursue information marketing, I signed up for a 2 day training course in Las Vegas for the Butterfly Marketing software (Very famous – membership software), I will talk more about this moving forward.  Whilst attending the event everything changed for me.  I always knew there were other people out there feeling my frustrations and I also knew that there were people out there making some serious cash from Internet Marketing..  I met some great people at this event.. and I’d like to think I’ll never look back, guys just like me that were certain there was some serious cash to be made on the net .    I met one chap from Wales called Alex Jeffreys  (does an excellent horse impression… that’s another story) He’s making close to a million a year actually doing this, since I got home Alex has launched a coaching program which I’ve now enrolled into and part of that program is to launch your very own blog.

So the intention is for this Blog to document my Internet Marketing Adventure over the next year, and try to create an income of $500 a day by the end of the year.
